Catcher-Interceptor is a powerful, software-based radio base station designed for special needs and applications such as search and rescue (S & R), portable tactical in-box network (NiB), cellular identification and interception, controlled access etc.

The platform includes a DSP signal processor, a radio frequency RF transceiver and a powerful broadband RF amplifier (up to 100 watts). An RF transceiver supports any frequency band between 400 MHz and 6 GHz.

The uniqueness of the Catcher-Interceptor is that it can be upgraded to a fully functional active interception system

IMSi catcher in backpack  The Catcher-Interceptor has a metal casing and can be ordered with or without a fan to accommodate different ambient temperature ranges. It also includes an onboard Environment Management IC (EMIC), which monitors and responds to changes in board temperature and input voltage, and handles other low level hardware management.

An optional “Keep Alive” battery can keep the device fully operational for approximately 5 to 10 minutes to allow “hot swap” of the external power supply.

The embedded Wi-Fi / Bluetooth module enables
wireless connectivity to the platform, for example, for controlling from Laptop. It also includes a high sensitivity, 72-channel tracking GPS module for precise location tracking and clock synchronization. Internal Wi-Fi / Bluetooth and GPS antennas are also included. Wi-Fi monitoring requires a separately-orderable Wi-Fi module.

The Catcher-Interceptor includes an SD card interface that can be used for scenario configuration, operation logging, and so on). UART, Ethernet, and user I2C interfaces are available via a digital expansion port.

The Catcher-Interceptor can be ordered with an optional 3G/LTE UE module or an additional Wi-Fi module. The 3G/LTE UE module can serve as a backhaul interface for NiB applications, for controlling the device remotely. An additional Wi-Fi module includes support for Wi-Fi monitoring.

Radio can be configured independently to operate as a GSM, UMTS or LTE base station.
Additionally, software support exists for cellular scanning (on all 3GPP standards), clock synchronization based on neighboring base stations, and many other features

Application of High Power Multi-band IMSI/IMEI Catcher-Interceptor:

IMSI/IMEI catching – in this mode the system detects identities of all mobile phones within it’s effective range.

Selective jamming of communication – in this mode system operator can block communication of all mobile phones defined as targets.

Presence verification ‐ This operational mode is intended to detect and select targets of interest (according to IMSI/IMEI identifications) from the total number of subscribers located within operational area of the system.

Data Analysis/Target Correlation ‐ This mode allows the system to detect identities of mobile phones (IMSI/IMEI) which belong to particular targets.

Direction Finding Support – the system forces target’s phone to get into transmit mode (without any visible mark) so that DF / Homing systems can track the transmission direction to identify the target mobile.

Downgrade from 3G/4G/5G to GSM for operation by an active or passive interception complex

Can be upgraded to a fully functional active interceptor according to the classical scheme or direct interception scheme with receiving keys via femtocell or SS7

Based on the above capabilities, the system can support variety of operational needs such as:

‐ Detection of identities of all mobile phones in the areas of interest;
‐ Identifying of mobile phones which belong to particular targets;
‐ Selective jamming of phones in restricted areas (prisons, embassies, etc);
‐ Presence detection of targets in specific area of interest (border crossing, airports, public areas);
‐ Detect location of hidden mobiles (prisons, classified places);

  System can operate with variety of power sources such as AC supply, batteries, car supply etc and by that, it can be installed and operated in many types of applications and environments (fixed installation, remote control configuration, transportable, vehicular, man pack).

Attention:

The IMSI catcher operate only with IMSI, IMEI and TMSI
To get MSISDN (public number) the system must be upgraded to fully functional active interceptor
