Overview
The Iridium Extreme handset fits securely in the dock, which features USB and serial data connectivity, phone charging and integrated antenna, data and power connection making it possible to keep all antenna cables and power permanently connected to the DriveDOCK ready for use.
The DriveDOCK Extreme has an easy click to lock mechanism that can be inserted and removed with a press of a button. It is purposely built to allow you to utilize the SOS emergency button and the ear-piece jack whilst docked.

How it Works
Easy access to voice services
Voice services can be easily accessed using standard telephone handsets, standard corded, cordless, DECT or alternatively integrated to a PBX system.
Compact privacy handset
The optional compact Beam Privacy Handset can be installed, which answers calls simply by removing the handset from its hang up cup and provides a compact handset that can be installed close to the DriveDOCK Extreme.
Data/Internet/SMS/Fax
All data services are easily accessible using either the USB connector on the cradle or the inbuilt wireless Bluetooth interface.
Bluetooth voice and data technology
Voice and Data services can be easily accessed using a Bluetooth receiver or laptop paired with the DriveDOCK Extreme. This is a very convenient way of integrating Bluetooth to the 9555 handset for various hands-free or data applications.
Tracking/alert monitoring
DriveDOCK Extreme has an inbuilt GPS module that can provide simple tracking, monitoring and alert management if required for various transport and personnel monitoring applications. The GPS provides pinpoint accuracy and enables tracking worldwide; tracking and alert messages can be sent via SMS or Short Burst Data, if provisioned on the handset. Beam’s Mybuddy web-based global tracking system enables easy access to track, trace and monitor any vehicle or fleet of assets anywhere on earth. DriveDOCK Extreme’s tracking and alert messages can be easily sent to Mybuddy or any other tracking application or email address as required.
Mybuddy tracking
MyBuddy is a web based tracking and monitoring system that provides global access to monitor personnel worldwide. The secure web portal allows access to view street level maps and satellite imagery to easily pin-point asset locations and areas of incidence.
MyBuddy supports the Iridium Extreme (9575) satellite handset. Other hardware devices maybe supported or added in the future. The Iridium Extreme (9575) handset is configured to send message reports back to the MyBuddy data server; these messages contain information such as the assets latitude/longitude, speed, heading and status.
Power input
The DriveDOCK Extreme supports a 9 – 32 VDC power input which can be a direct DC input or from the AC 110/240 plug-pack included in the kit (requires country-specific monitor cable).
Robust mounting options
The DriveDOCK Extreme is supplied with a high-quality RAM-Mount fixing system to adapt to various installations. It is also possible to mount the DriveDOCK Extreme directly to a wall.
Full in-vehicle integration
The DriveDOCK Extreme allows for a quality semi-permanent installation to a vehicle. The antenna, microphone and speaker are installed in a convenient location within the vehicle following the instructions provided with the kit. The handset is seated in the DriveDOCK Extreme cradle ready for use.
Intelligent handset interface
The DriveDOCK Extreme supports the optional Beam Intelligent Handset RST970. The handset supports voice calls as well as utilizing the Iridium SMS service. The handset is compact and includes an inbuilt ring alert. The handset also enables a private in-vehicle conversation.
